Customer Reviews
I waited a month to do the review. I did one application and had a pretty good result especially with the clover, crab grass and creeping Charlie. However had some broad leaf weeds that giggled at the products so I retreated. Waited a week to evaluate. I think this product did a phenomenal job. I was shocked in fact at how well it worked. It did annihilate a huge majority of the problematic weeds over taking my lawn and the little grass I had, is fine. I have pure hope for my spring lawn this coming year. Absolutely recommend this product. PSA: please use as directed!
This ACTUALLY works! We've been dealing with a horrible spurge infestation and broadleaf issue for 3 years now. After trying everything I decided to search in depth on what to use, then I came across this. I was definitely skeptical, but for the cost it wouldn't hurt if it didn't work especially since we've spent thousands on other products. I sprayed it on the spurge and broadleafs around 9am Monday and by Monday afternoon the broadleaf was shriveled and brown. By today, Tuesday morning, spurge was losing color and getting crunchy which means it's dying. I HIGHLY recommend this product, but please READ AND ADHERE to the warning label. This is serious stuff and needs to be treated as so.
Excellent! Killed the broadleaf weeds in my yard. This picture is 2 days after spraying. My fescue grass is unharmed. A little bit goes a long way. 5 stars!
Arrived in less than 24hrs works great saw results in the 2nd day after spraying weeds.
This stuff is great! I highly recommend this. Follow the direction and kill those unwanted weeds!
Great product for getting rid of those pesky crepe Myrtle shoots.
Understanding the Active Ingredient
What is Atrazine?
Atrazine is a selective herbicide commonly used for certain turfgrass applications, especially in St. Augustinegrass and Centipedegrass. It works by disrupting photosynthesis in susceptible weeds, controlling emerged weeds and preventing new weeds from seed. It is often selected when users need a formula suited to specific warm-season grass types.
Atrazine products are typically chosen for:
- •St. Augustinegrass lawns
- •Centipedegrass lawns
- •Management of weeds such as dollarweed, chickweed, henbit, and annual bluegrass
- •Crabgrass suppression
- •Targeted residential lawn care where grass compatibility is essential
Atrazine should not be treated as a general-use solution for every lawn. The grass type must match the label.

The Southern Ag Atrazine St. Augustine Grass Weed Killer in the 1-gallon size is the stronger fit for larger lawns and more extensive coverage. Its bigger volume means fewer refills and better value per square foot for homeowners dealing with bigger properties.
Application rates vary by product and should always follow the label directions. For Southern Ag Atrazine, the provided guidance indicates 5 teaspoons per 100 sq. ft. For Hi-Yield Atrazine, follow the mixing instructions on the product label. Never exceed the recommended rate — more product does not mean better results and may damage the lawn.
The provided directions state that the product should be applied to St. Augustine and Centipede grass to control weeds. As with any concentrate herbicide, the key steps are selecting the correct lawn type, following the product label carefully, and applying only to approved areas.
The active ingredient determines how the product works, which weeds it targets, and where it can be used. Atrazine is specifically designed for warm-season grasses like St. Augustine and Centipede. Using the wrong herbicide on the wrong grass type can kill the lawn instead of the weeds. Choosing by active ingredient helps avoid costly mistakes.
Both featured products are presented as liquid concentrates. That means they are intended to be measured and applied according to label instructions rather than sprayed directly from the bottle in the same way as a ready-to-use formula.
Basic herbicide safety starts with careful handling and accurate application. The provided product information emphasizes keeping products out of reach of children and pets, avoiding contact with skin and eyes, and preventing off-target spray drift. Do not apply to areas where food is grown. Store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
Atrazine Weed Killer is designed as a more focused weed control destination. Instead of treating all products as interchangeable, the site emphasizes the differences that matter most — active ingredient, use case, grass compatibility, application method, and target weeds. That makes the shopping experience clearer for customers trying to choose the right selective herbicide.
The site is designed for homeowners, land users, and property managers who want a more practical way to compare weed control options. It is especially useful for customers who want to understand not just what a product is called, but what ingredient it contains, where it can be used, and whether it matches their lawn or land management needs.
